If you're going to train for a race, you better look good doing it.

Ok, I guess you don't have to look good doing it, but I always find that when I'm wearing cute workout clothes, I tend to run faster and longer. Looking cute while working out really boosts my confidence! Same thing with a great running playlist. Plus, my face is literally beet red after I finish a good run, so I need all the cuteness I can get, ha!

{After my first half. No lie, red face!}

Last year for my birthday, Luke gave me some really nice half-marathon training gear because I was in the middle of training for the Nashville Rock and Roll Half (one of the BEST races ever!). I loved these Under Armour tops and running capris, but I was shocked at how much he'd spent. With my next half marathon scheduled for the middle of April, I'm in need of some new workout clothes, but I'm just not willing to break the bank. Anyone else with me?

So after a little online research, I decided that it's time to check out Old Navy's active wear. Luke and I traveled a few miles down the road from our house to the closest ON to check their stuff out. Not only was I impressed with the quality of clothing and the selection, but the prices were amazing! Not one item I bought was full priced.

{Luke loved the way this tank fit, he made me buy it in three different colors. And at $10/top, I wasn't about to argue!}

{I'm all about the long-sleeved running tops right now, especially in the northeast! Those long Saturdays runs are going to be super cold practically up until race day}

{Ok, so to be 100% honest, I didn't need this windbreaker. But it was on sale for $18, so I couldn't say no. I'll wear it walking into the gym, ha!}

{And lastly, some running pants. Luke was a big fan of these. I'm not normally into this style, but they were surprisingly comfortable and again, on big-time sale! So, we'll see how I like them after my first run in them}

So, if you're looking to change up or update your workout wardrobe, I would definitely check out Old Navy's activewear line. No one is paying me to write this, I'm just really that impressed! I mean, what girl doesn't like looking cute while running/training? :)

Happy Monday y'all!

Cyber Monday Finds

Cyber Monday is genius! I hate Black Friday (or Thursday, whatever it's become...) because I don't want to fight the crowds at the mall and I absolutely refuse to wake up early on my day off. And of course, I began receiving Cyber Monday emails on Saturday, so I've had plenty of time to prep and research sales prior to making any purchases. These tricksters! They totally have me figured out. :)

Here are just a couple of items I purchased today...

{I love all sweater dresses. I tend to think that they flatter most body types and they look so cute with tights and boots! I picked this one up today at Old Navy for $20}

{I also tend to think that skinny jeans look funny on short, curvy girls like myself, but Old Navy has hit the nail on the head with these $19 Rockstar skinny jeans. They are jeans that have just enough stretch in them to fit all body types really well without being jeggings (yuck!). I already own one pair in black denim and couldn't resist buying 2 more, one black denim and one blue denim. I love these jeans!}

{Oh Kate, how I love you! Today, Kate Spade was having a Cyber Monday/75% off sale and I couldn't help but take advantage. I've been looking for a hipster that could also be carried like a normal handbag and the Mott Street Small Riley was perfect! I bought it in the taupe/nude color you see above, but this color sold out, so you'll only see the blue bag if you follow the link. I can't wait for it to arrive!}

Did you do any online shopping today? If so, what awesome deals did you find?
I can't wait to hear about it!

Fall. :)

Fall is HERE!!! Well, the first little taste of it, anyway.

South Texas is notorious for confusing its people with weather. As I walked out the front door this morning to take Brooklyn "potty," I felt that first cool, crisp fall breeze hit my face and just about screamed with joy! It was 65 degrees and absolutely perfect. However, I'm not one to pull out the wool coats just yet. Although it is almost October, I'm not yet convinced that the heat is 100% over. I bet we get back into the 90s for a couple more weeks before "fall" actually arrives. But no worries, I'm not a Debbie Downer. I'm just being realistic. :)

I guess something inside of me knew that today's cold front was going to hit because two days ago I bought my first sweater of the season. Thank you Old Navy for your $20 sweater sale!

{It's so cozy!}

This morning, Aubrey and I took a drive down the bay front with Brooklyn to enjoy this beautiful weather. We stopped by the Ortiz Center (where Aub works) and then went to Hester's the get some breakfast. Our friend Felicia works right next to Hester's, so we got to visit her too! Brooklyn enjoyed her outing in the cool weather.

{Outside of Hester's}

So, the rest of my day will be spent at the La De Da Office, but before I head down there I will be picking up a pumpkin spice latte, of course. I love celebrating fall in any way I can! But have I ever told you that I'm not a fan of fall colors? Isn't that sad? I don't know, I've just never loved brown, red, and orange. Funny, since I just purchased a brown sweater, ha! But for all of you fall colors lovers, here is a picture of leaves that change colors, something we rarely see down in good ol' South Texas.

{Fall, please stay. Please?}

Happy First Day of Cooler Weather!
