Big girl

Yesterday, one of my best firends in the entire world, Aubrey, bought herself the cutest little blue house in Corpus Christi. Seriously, this picture doesn't do it justice! It has a brick walkway, white trim, a rocking chair on the front porch, a pink rose bush, and a hot tub in the backyard. What up! This has been a 2 month process for Aubs and definitely more stressful for her than any of us thought it would be (thanks to realtors/mortage offices/other goofballs who will remain unnamed), but it's finally over. She's now a homeowner and I'm SO excited for her! Let the Pinterest projects begin!!

Congrats Aubrey!

Wedding Invitation Ornament

Last night, I went over to Aubrey's apartment to make/eat tacos and watch the DWTS results show. When I called her to let her know I was on my way over, she said, "I made you a prize today!!" I love when Aubery makes prizes because they are always super artsy and extermely thoughtful. I had no idea what she had made, but I was super excited when she showed me this...

{It's an ornament with my wedding invitation inside! It is cut into thin strips and wrapped around inside a clear, glass ornament. LOVE!}

Isn't this the sweetest, most thoughtful gift?! I had no idea that she was putting this together and I seriously think it's the cutest idea. I definitely want to do this for my friends that get married in the future. In the first picture, you can see my name. In this next shot, you can see Luke's. On purpose, no doubt. :)

And no artsy DIY gift/project is complete without a picture of the creator. Isn't she the cutest? I am so blessed to call her one of my best friends!

The Summer Peddler's Show

Last November, Aubrey took me to my very first Peddler's Show. I have such fond memories of that trip!  The weather that day was perfectly fall-ish and I bought some really cute Christmas decor for my first apartment out of college. So when Aubrey asked if I wanted to go back to The Peddler's Show on Sunday for their summer weekend event, I immediately said YES! We spent about 2 hours out in Robstown and I bought a couple more items than I had originally anticipated, but who could help it? The hand-made house decor, jewelry, and baked good/spices/mixes call to me!!

{This is one of my favorite booths! I'm a coffee lover and you can try as many samples of coffee as you'd like. They have amazing flavors and you just add hot water. This is great for those early mornings before work!}

{The homemade soup/dip booth is another favorite. So many samples at the Peddler's Show!}

{You can buy tons of jewelry, clothing, and shoes at the show. This is a picture of individual beads that a buyer could string on a necklace or bracelet chain}

{I just HAD to take a picture of these boots with the cute husband sign on them! I actually found a turquoise and tan pair in my size that I fell in love with, but gasped at when the saleslady told me they were $400. NO WAY!! But after telling Luke how beautiful they were, he asked me, "Why didn't you get them?" Seriously babe?!}

These are the few items I actually purchased...

{Two bags of coffee: Turtle and Snickerdoodle. Three bags of dip mix: On The Border, Tangy Jalapeno Ranch, and Dilly-icious}

{I feel in love with these two items instantly! The wall decor on the left could be hung anywhere in our apartment and has a blank space for a 4x6 picture to be glued to it. I already have a wedding picture in mind! The block on the right stands alone and is now hanging out on our entertainment center}

{I can never pass on a good jewelry deal! Cocktail ring: $3, Pearl earrings: $4}

{And lastly, this sweet little leaf/fall wall decor will be hanging on the front door of our apartment come October 1st}

The next Peddler's Show will be in November and I can't wait!! I'm ready to do some Christmas gift shopping and to buy more Christmas decor. :) Plus, once November rolls around, the weather will be cooler and hopefully I'll have a pumpkin spice latte in hand. Pleeeease hurry fall!!!

1 year ago today...

{Happy 25th birthday Aubrey!!! Love you!}

1. I accepted my first full-time job out of college.
2. I signed a leased on an apartment and moved my life to Corpus Christi, Texas.
3. I postponed my wedding.
4. Unfortunately, I missed Aubrey's birthday dinner because of these highs/lows.

I seriously cannot believe it's been an entire year since these life altering events occurred. I am no longer at the same job (but at an even better one!). I'm still at the same apartment complex, but in a bigger apartment. I'm going to be marrying my best friend in five and a half weeks. And today I will be attending Aubrey's birthday dinner (and I can't wait!).

Thank you Lord for constantly reminding me that Your timing is perfect. <3

Poem Time

As this week comes to an end and we say goodbye to April, I would like to share with you a poem that was written for me by one of my dear friends, Miss Aubrey. I found this little treat in my inbox about 3 weeks ago and have been meaning to share it with you. I hope it makes you giggle out loud the way it did me. Aubs--you're so great! Someday I will write you a poem in return. :)

Happy weekend everyone!

Aubrey's Poem:

Hey Hey Grilled Cheese,
Read this poem if you please,
Its a baby treat for a girl,
who likes to wear a pearl,
Her name may be Sara,
but she is hotter than Scarlet O'hara,
She is soon to marry a boy,
and has a dog unto like a toy,
Her hair is blonde like the sun,
which contributes to our daily fun,
We like to explore our bayside city,
so life without her would be a pity,
Who knew this friendship would be such bliss,
if something happened, its you I would miss.

How cute is this girl, seriously??
